News ClimaClic X Urbis Foundation: Energy for a health care centre in Togo

Thanks to the generous support from the ClimaClic Climate Lottery, we were able to implement another important project: the installation of a photovoltaic system with battery storage in a laboratory building at the USP-Glitto Health Center in Togo.

On January 28, 2025, our TOGO ENERGY team, along with two solar energy interns from the Urbis Foundation, successfully installed the solar system in the laboratory building at the USP-GLITO Health Center. The system includes 9 solar panels, 6 solar batteries, 2 Victron MPPT controllers, 2 Victron inverters, as well as 20 lamps and 10 sockets. After successful installation, the system is now running smoothly, providing power to the laboratory so that essential equipment such as microscopes, refrigerators, and computers can be used without restriction. The responsible center manager has been thoroughly trained in using the system, and all installations have been successfully tested.

Through the sale of climate lottery tickets, we received funding of over €9,000. This financial support enabled us to install the solar system at the health center in Glitto and strengthen the sustainable energy supply on-site.

With this generous funding, we plan to install additional solar systems at other health centers in rural areas in Togo.
