This year, the Alpha Childcare and Community Development Organisation (ACCOD) from Uganda implemented a solar project in two health stations in rural areas as part of the URBIS funding programme. As part of the project, the two health stations in Luuka District were equipped with PV systems for light supply and solar refrigerators for cooling medicines. Now, many mothers and their children from the region have access to improved health care with a daily 24-hour service. To ensure continuous use of the new solar installation and the sustainability of the project, the staff of the health posts were also trained in maintenance and servicing of the solar installations.
