News Visiting our team in Togo

In mid-January, project coordinator Cornelia Dix travelled to our subsidiary foundation URBIS FOUNDATION Togo (UFT). On her twelve-day trip, she first visits our headquarters in Sokodé, a city in the central region of Togo. There, she exchanges ideas with our local colleagues and visits some projects and ongoing activities. For example, she tours the regional hospital CHR, which URBIS has financed with a solar thermal system to supply the maternity ward with hot water, she talks to the students of our training school "Formathèque" and visits various solar companies. During her stay, she also takes the opportunity to visit our project for the establishment of agricultural production communities in Blitta, which is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry. In addition, Cornelia meets with other partners and other actors relevant to our work.

One highlight is the visit to our training farm CPIA. There, Cornelia meets the young trainees and the farm staff and talks to them about suggestions and development potential of the farm.

Cornelia spends the last days in Lomé, where she visits our office there and meets once again with partner organisations and institutions such as the German Embassy and the GIZ. All in all, it was a very intensive time with many impressions. We are looking forward to implementing the many new impulses and ideas now.
