News Photovoltaic system for child protection centre and training farm in Benin

This year, our long-standing partner Kinderrechte Afrika e.V., with the financial support of the Urbis Foundation, installed a 3.6 kWp photovoltaic system on the Terre des Anges training farm in southern Benin. With this project, the children's rights organization is again supporting better living conditions and the protection of children.

In the first half of the project, the association Kinderrechte Afrika installed the renewable energy system on the roof of the farm. This system now provides solar energy and supports the agricultural training of the young girls on the farm and the production of agricultural products for the child protection centre La Passerelle of the Beninese organization Espace Solidarité Globale Bénin (ESGB).

In the next project phase, the drinking water supply is to be ensured by installing a solar pump. In addition, the staff and the farm students will be familiarized with the use of solar energy through training and maintenance phases. They can then independently maintain the system, pass on their knowledge as multipliers and thus ensure the sustainability of the project.
