Together with our partner ACSET Uganda we have successfully completed the ProREU project (Promotion of Renewable Energy Use in Uganda). An overview of the project can be found here.

The 50 Solar Extension Agents (SEAs) have been installing solar systems in their communities since the end of their training and have already serviced more than 1500 PV solar systems in the last 6 months. They have also mapped over 5700 PV systems across the Lango sub-region and made the data publicly available. Click here for the map showing all mapped PV systems. Unfortunately, it turned out that more than half of the installed equipment is not functional, which makes the work of the SEAs all the more important.

That is why we are happy that we were able to establish the five-week solar course permanently at Uganda Technical College in Lira and that the next cohort is ready for their training.

But rather hear from our SEAs and other project participants themselves. Go to the video of ACSET Uganda here.
