News Five-week research internship in Togo
In the course of his Bachelor thesis on "Net-Metering in Togo" (feeding solar energy into the public grid), prepared at the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences in the course of studies "Management of Renewable Energies", Michael Reck completed a five-week research internship in Togo from 8 April to 12 May 2019.
The internship gave him an exciting insight into government work and the solar sector in Togo. Among other things, he was able to conduct interviews with government employees who are significantly involved in the legislative process with regard to renewable energies.
Michael had already prepared a detailed presentation on the subject of Net Metering before starting his research stay, which also included comparisons with existing feed-in models in other African countries. He was able to present these facts to key government agencies, the Renewable Energy Agency (AT2ER) and local NGOs. This allowed Michael not only to generate information for his upcoming bachelor thesis, but also to share them with decision makers and local stakeholders.
URBIS FOUNDATION is very happy about his great commitment and we wish him all the best.
